Resveratrol is 99% pure. What does the rest consist of?

Veri-te™ Resveratrol is approved in the EU as a ‘novel food’. This means that its safety has been scientifically proven.

The manufacturing process using genetically modified yeast is also taken into account. The yeasts used for the fermentation process are considered genetically modified (GM) under EU law. However, foods produced using GM microorganisms do not have to be labelled as long as no residues of the production organisms are detectable in the final product.

This also applies to Veri-te™ Resveratrol. It confirms that the pure substance does not contain any genetically modified microorganisms.

What does ‘trans-resveratrol’ mean?

The suffix ‘trans’ does not refer to the genetic engineering process used in production. It stands for one of two possible structural forms (trans or cis isomers). The remaining components (less than 2%) are therefore merely degradation products of resveratrol or the cis isomer form.
